I’m so excited to be sharing with you, today, my very first Guest Nest. And what a guest she is!
Did my clues help you out any? {If you didn’t see my explanation of The Guest Nest then pop on over here and don’t forget to come back!}
Yes, it’s the lovely Leah from The Inside Story and she so very kindly has allowed us to take a wander through her beautiful nest alongside her.
Over to you Leah …
…
Hi Leah and thanks so much for allowing us to sticky beak around here with you. So, let’s get this lovely nesty ball rolling.
Can you share with us who lives in your nest?
My husband and I and our five year old son live here.
How long have you lived here?
We have lived here for 11 years.
What made you move to this nest?
My husband is a builder and he built the house new 11 years ago, because we loved the location, it’s quiet, easy walk to town , schools, cafes etc.
What is it that you love most about living in your nest?
I love the style of this home, which is a bit hamptons, a little bit nordic, a bit coastal and a bit country. It really is just my style, with everything in it that I love.
Shall we take a look:
I like to decorate with worn rustic style pieces mixed with some new pieces as well. I like to use things that I have made and things from nature. My husband also made most of the furniture in our house. The palette I have chosen is mostly greys and whites with touches of black. I love the airy, light feeling of using these colours. The predominant colour being white.
Where is the one place in your nest {inside or out} that you feel the most cosy and relaxed?
I love everything about my home. It’s comfortable, it works well. As I am a bit of a homebody, I love my home to be a place I want to be in, decorated the way I like it, not following trends and fads. I like simplicity and function.
Can you tell us a bit about your favourite room?
I don’t necessarily have a favourite room, but I do spend a lot of time in my back sun room.
How about your favourite feathering thing?
My favourite way to feather my nest would be to add flowers, whenever I can. They add some colour and make me happy.
Could you show us where you spend most of your time blogging?
I blog all over the place with my laptop. Sometimes sitting in the sun, at the dining table, in the office etc. Not any one particular place.
Can you show us around your garden and tell us a bit about it?
My garden consists of a vegetable patch, rose gardens, lavender, lots of hedging, a stone water feature, and climbing jasmines.
We have recently put our home on the market. We have built and sold houses over the years and we are now ready for a new project. As much as I love my home, I want to move on, to get excited about creating something new and having a new plan. To me that is what our life is about.

…
Thanks so much, Leah, for allowing us to sticky beak around your gorgeous, gorgeous nest. From the moment I started reading your blog I connected with your style and your nest, and of course, you! I ’m sure everyone reading this post will be stunned to hear that your nest is on the market but, speaking from very recent experience I know that you will make a new nest, equally as lovely, somewhere else and your creative flare for decorating and feathering and nesting will be put to wonderful use there, in your new little space. Nest making is what Leah does! Why don’t you pop on over and tell her I sent you:)
I hope you loved the very first Guest Nest. I certainly did! I can’t wait to reveal our next Guest Nester. All in good time.

Looks gorgeous, I want to curl up with a book there now. Bushbelles
What a dreamy home ... I loved everything from the roofline, the stone work and weatherboard combination, the lush gardens and restful, clean interiors. Good luck with future projects!
Gorgeous and homely. I love the style and furniture. I'm afraid that so much white would not survive my children - maybe when they get older?
Leah has done such a lovely job with this home. I look forward to seeing her next project. xxoo
