Well hello there! I have to say I am a little bit bummed today.
Why?
Because I’m chowing down my raw muesli when I’d love to be munching on some scrumptiously delicious, thickly buttered, fresh-out-of-the-oven sourdough with you. But alas, it’s not so. Not that I don’t like muesli – I do. But I’m becoming mighty sick of it! I am feeling the benefits of laying off the fat and wheat for a bit though so I’ll continue, but please don’t feel you have to crunch down raw muesli with me on Tuesdays from now on. I can take it. I really can.
I’m picturing you right now with some toast or perhaps you’re a crumpet kind a person. It’s smothered in butter and fresh as a daisy honey, isn’t it? Go on, tell me. I can take it. I really can. Arghhhhhhh!
OK, enough food talk. Let’s move on.. cuppa in hand, because there’s no way on this planet that I’m skimping on my morning cup of tea. No way Hozay!
So, are you ready? Oh…it’s picnic day today, by the way.Did I mention that? The perfect time of year for a picnic – though I really, really love an autumn picnic too. Lazy days. Lazy food prep. Lazy packing. Lazy lazing about. All you need is a shady tree, a plump picnic basket or perhaps just a thermos and tea cup, some cool drinks, some yummy, easy-peasy food, good company and lots and lots of lazing about time.
Come on and I’ll show you some lovely picnic inspiration…

What about Cath Kidston inspired picnic ware? Pretty pretty!

Once you’ve got your basket packed the rest of the picnic is a cinch. Pick a spot, lay it all out and chill for some lazy hours…

Simple things are often the best. A pretty thermos and a favourite tea cup. A cosy rug and a quiet place to lay. That’s all that’s really required, don’t you think?
Throw in some live music – a guitar or banjo perhaps and I could stay here all day long…
And there’s really no need to venture too far from home. A picnic spot in the garden would be fine by me…
Or perhaps a little R & R down at the jetty?
or on the sand…

The car could be a handy picnic accessory too …
So what do you think – picnic date soon?
Happy Tuesday!
Kim xx

Picnicking is our most favourite family pastime...we do it every chance we get, and there is nothing quite like a backyard picnic is there? We have even been known to picnic indoors :)
These images are just heavenly.
You are not the only one sworn off bread Kim, due to health reasons I am not allowed starch or sugar and let me tell you it's the homemade bread at I am missing big time!
I love a good picnic. I am on the lookout for some vintage looking gear though and I love the thermos you've shown. The bush radio is on my list as well. Lovely post! Leahx
